A Journey Through Faith
A Journey Through Faith
Author/Designer: Raisa Harris
This game is based on Nathaniel Hawthorne's famous short story "Young Goodman Brown" and its perception of Puritanism.
As a decision-based game, it follows Young Goodman Brown who is sent by his wife Faith to find her pink ribbons. Without them, she has become weak and ill. Goodman must journey through a dark forest and decide which paths he should take that will lead him to the ribbons and closer to eternal salvation. While on this journey, he learns whether or not he'll be able to trust again and hold onto his religious belief for support. Along the way, he meets Puritan authors Anne Bradstreet, Mary Rowlandson, and Jonathan Edwards, who each share their own experiences and struggles.
Will the darkness consume Goodman? Will he ever find the ribbons? Or will he tango with the devil himself? That's for you to decide.
